I write this in the absence of writing for the last year, but more importantly, in the aftermath of a horrific event. The recent attacks of violence in our world are not justified. As Paris and Beirut suffer in loss and shock, the world seems less to understand the truth and more to stand together.
To our enemies: we are not afraid; we as a people of Christ believe in the peace that exists in this world. The creation of mankind was not in vain, it was a beautiful sentiment to God's love for humanity and life. We Americans and Christians across the world stand ready to fight -- to fight in peace and love against injustice and violence. Let it be known that we relish the opportunity to protect our nation, the nations we align with, and the people that have been hurt; but more importantly, we WILL protect our families and our loved ones. Everything we have made for ourselves has been done in the name of God, so that we may meet our Creator when we are called.
Let it not be a crusade, but more of a symbol of unity to stand up against the darkness of evil. He has promised us that there is light and will be until the end. "Then Jesus told them, 'You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before the darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become the sons of light.'" John 12:35-36. In His name and in their honor, we walk in the light for Paris and Beirut. Walking in the light has ignited a flame of strength and goodness that cannot and will not be extinguished. The children of God know where we are going.
Is it not enough that He has given us life? What authority is it of you to take that away? The mourning of His sons and daughters will not go unnoticed. Let justice be served in the name of only His judgement. I write this in favor of not just Christianity, but the laws of the universe! The laws of humanity exist for ALL who believe in any kind of higher power. No life was given to this world without careful thought and love. Whether any other belief holds truth to knowledge, one thing will always exist: the love that humans have for each other was only created by goodness and true heartfelt intentions. No amount of violence, evil, nor illegitimate "Caliphate" can deny our original intended creation.
It is difficult to fall asleep at night knowing that there is an oppressed population with every intent to destroy human life in the name of religion. It is more comforting to know that I have the power to spread love through His word. We will not be hardened by the actions of others against us, but we will be comforted by Him. You are oppressed because you aren't free. You are oppressed because you have been misled. You are oppressed because you seek value in life. You are oppressed but we love you anyway.
As every American in my family has stood before me to protect this country, I stand ready to fight against injustice. Let it be known to every soldier armed in the name of evil that Americans will not back down. We await crouched below our blades of grass ready to protect our land, but we rise to the opportunity to face you. As our ancestors have long ago, this land remains free and will stand stronger than ever to meet you. It is less a threat and more of a warning: we will not run because we fear not.
I feel sorry for you. But more importantly, I pray for you and we will forgive you for your wrongs. However, we will never forget. In honor of the lives lost on Friday, I pray that those who are mourning will receive comfort in the knowledge that America stands beside you.
